LU Open - Open Innovation Center is a cluster located in the Øresund region with more than 10 years of experience in ICT and cluster management. We specialize in internationalization processes, matchmaking and fundraising in the ICT sector. Since a few years we are focusing on internationalization and have realized the importance of having an international network and create support systems will facilitate internationalization and bring value for companies in our region.
WestBIC is the official EC Business & Innovation Centre in the Border, Midland & Western region of Ireland providing tailored support to innovative enterprise through the initial stages, from concept to commercialisation. Established in 1987, WestBIC is a specialist provider in the Government's portfolio of supports to indigenous industry, supported under the National Development Plan. WestBIC is an active member of both the Association of EC BIC’s in Ireland and European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN).
WestBICs aims and objectives include: the provision of business support to Innovative Start-Ups, the provision of assistance to Intermediaries involved in enterprise creation and development, the management of Incubation Space for knowledge intensive enterprises, linking entrepreneurs with seed capital opportunities, provision of mentoring to early stageenterprise and assisting the internationalisation of companies via our international networks.
WestBIC's motivation for joining the ACE project is to help accelerate the internationalisation of the many ICT companies we work with on a daily basis. In addition, we are keen to work with our international partners in testing and developing new and innovative models for cross border trade.
Forum Virium Helsinki (FVH) can be seen as an innovation company of the City of Helsinki, where services are developed in cooperation with other public sector organizations, companies, and the other residents of Helsinki with the aim of creating new, better services and make the everyday life of city residents run smoother. Another major aim is to offer new business opportunities to companies and to open up new connections to international markets.
In ACE, FVH will be involved in the design of the ACE programme and SME selection and pilot testing.
Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is the technology transfer organization from Coimbra University, with a mission to leverage a strong university/enterprise relationship for the promotion of innovation, quality and entrepreneurship in private and public sector organizations. IPN has a vast experience in supporting startups aimed at global markets and has recently launched the first accelerator in Portugal - TecBIS.
Participation in ACE will allow us to learn from a strong group of leading European clusters, incubators and accelerators in order to deliver targeted cross border services to highly innovative entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs in the ICT sector, with the purpose of helping them to accelerate their growth.
